BRIGG IS READY TO RUMBLE

Brigg people may wonder about rumbling noises they are hearing from time to time over the next few days.
These sounds are due to heavy freight trains being re-routed along the little-used railway line through our town which does not usually see goods traffic like biomass bound for Yorkshire or oil tanker wagons.
Delays for motorists at the A1084 Bigby Road barrier level crossing are inevitable as the trains pass through.
The reason for these Brigg diversions is a 'minor landslip' affecting the mainline in Scunthorpe, which requires repair.
This has led to Barnetby-Scunthorpe-Doncaster passenger services being delayed by a temporary speed restriction put in place on the affected stretch of track.
Passenger trains running from Scunthorpe to Barnetby are unaffected, says operating company Transpennine Express.
