BRIGG TRAIN TRAVEL POPULAR WITH THE YOUNG GENERATION
Brigg Blog is interested to learn that more young people are using our local Saturdays-only passenger train service.
Phill Hewson, who keeps an eye on the line, reports that 49 people go on/off the six trains that called at our station last Saturday (April 20). And he noted "a high proportion of the younger generation."
Among them was a youngster who came up from King's Cross by taking advantage of the special £14 fare available from London.
A couple of local cyclists also made use of the train while making a ride centred on Gainsborough.
Every Saturday, three trains call at Brigg and head off to Grimsby and Cleethorpes; three also leave platform two (on the other side of the footbridge) for Gainsborough, Retford and Sheffield.
By changing trains at Barnetby, it's possible to make Saturday trips from Brigg to Lincoln, Doncaster and other destinations.
Have you thought about giving it a try?
