BRIGG CIVIC AWARD FOR REFURBISHED HOTEL

Mine hosts at the Lord Nelson Hotel in Brigg town centre, Richard Smith, pictured, attended the Civic Dinner last Saturday night and returned to his hostelry with a coveted award from Brigg Town Council.
A distinctive blue plaque was presented to mark the Market Place hostelry's refurbishment, carried out for owners The Old Mill Brewery, from Snaith.
The Lord Nelson - offering food, drink and accommodation - is a grade two listed building within the Conservation Area.
Brigg Blog popped into the Nelson on Saturday night to congratulate Richard after he'd made the very short trip back from the Angel Suite where the showpiece dinner was held.
We think the coveted plaque may be displayed on the frontage of the pub, in due course.
Refurbishment of a row of shops on Wrawby Street (pictured below) resulted in a second plaque being presented for good work undertaken in 2018.
