Briggensians hosted Barnetby United at Brigg Recreation Ground in an EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District Football League local derby yesterday (Saturday, March 2).

STALEMATE AT THE REC
The Railwaymen fought out a 0-0 draw at the Recreation Ground in a game neither side could afford to lose.
An uneven pitch and a stiff breeze failed to stop both sides going at it but clear-cut chances were few and far between.
Hartley and Hunt had chances but they failed to hit the target and Dobbs had to be alert in the visitors goal to keep the score level.
0-0 at the break, the 2nd half followed a very similar pattern to the 1st as both sides played decent football up to the 18-yard box but neither could find the killer touch.
N.F. adds: In division two yesterday, second-in-the-table Barnetby United Reserves lost their first league game of the season, going down 1-0 at home to Crosby Colts Reserves.
