NEED TO KEEP BRIGG TOWN CENTRE BUILDINGS IN GOOD REPAIR
The owners of buildings in Brigg town centre that are not considered to be in good repair could be receiving letters from North Lincolnshire Council.
The authority's leader, Coun Rob Waltham, pictured above, told Brigg Town Council's latest meeting that there was a requirement for owners to keep properties up to standard.
Grants may be sought in some cases to help with improvements.
A group of Brigg councillors recently met with an officer from North Lincolnshire Council to consider town centre building standards.
Brigg has an extensive conservation area, covering the town centre, and a number of historic listed buildings.
In contrast, one of the newest additions, the Millennium Green's Holocaust Memorial off Elwes Street, would benefit from a plaque outlining its purpose and identifying the young student who designed it, Coun Waltham told Town Council colleagues.
A memorial service was held alongside the steel structure for the first time in late January.
