Brigg Blog wants to see more passenger trains serving our town and more people using this form of public transport.
So we were very interested to discover that a neighbouring council is looking to appoint an officer to help promote local railways.
The so-called Brigg Line also serves Gainsborough, where West Lindsey District Council is now seeking a community rail partnership officer, to be based in Gainsborough but "with a requirement for travel throughout Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire."
The closing date for applications is September 12, with interviews to be held later this month.
The job description says: "The activities range from supporting the activities of station adopters in maintaining and improving the station environments through to supporting proposals to transport providers to increase and/or improve services.
"The role will include a range of activities from designing, producing and installing posters and literature through to negotiating, proposing and delivering marketing and PR plans."
The job is on a fixed term contract until December 2019.

Note the reference to increase and/or improve services within the job description.
The Brigg Line crosses the border between North Lincolnshire and West Lindsey (Lincolnshire), including at Kettleby (pictured below).
Currently, passenger trains only serve Brigg on Saturdays - three going to Grimsby and Cleethorpes and three heading through Kirton Lindsey and Gainsborough to Sheffield.
