Brigg Town Football Club extended their lead at the top of the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier Division yesterday (Saturday, September 8, 2018).
The Zebras defeated second-placed Lincoln United Reserves 4-1 at The Hawthorns.
Brigg's scorers were Jake Reed (2), Chris Rodgers and Reece Moody.
The Zebras have three wins and a draw from their opening four fixtures - a very good start to the season.
In division one of the EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District Football League, Barnetby United beat Briggensians 3-1 at the village's Silver Street ground to kick off the new campaign.
Ben Hunt (2) and Shaun Clark netted for Barnetby, with Tom Burkinshaw replying for the Brigg-based team, newly-promoted to the top flight.
In division two, newcomers Hibaldstow Wanderers lost 4-1 when hosting Barnetby United Reserves.
Barnetby secretary Lee Fielden reports that three goals in the closing stages helped in this game played at Brigg Recreation Ground.
He added: "Kyle Sylvester took his Barnetby career goals tally to 42 with a brace and further goals from Ross Hempstock and Jaroslav Judiny saw Marcus Davies’s men maintain their 100% record."
