MILESTONE DRAWS NEAR FOR BRIGG FARMERS' MARKET
Brigg Farmers' Market will be reaching a milestone on Saturday (July 25).
Established at the beginning of the new millennium, the popular monthly attraction has reached its 20th anniversary.
It's to be hoped there is good weather and sizeable support from the shopping public of Brigg and district this weekend.
Producers will be behind their stalls, selling a wide range of produce from 9am until mid-afternoon this Saturday.
The free parking concession will be available, as ever, to help attract visitors.
Back in July 2010, North Lincolnshire Council, which runs the award-winning farmers' event, celebrated the crowd pleaser's 10th anniversary.
Brigg Blog reported that event at length and took many pictures - a couple of which can be seen here.
Farmers' markets have grown in popularity across Britain in recent decades, and Brigg's soon established itself.
An early visitor was Coronation Street TV series actor John Savident, who played butcher Fred Elliot in the long-running 'soap'.
Pre-Christmas farmers' markets have been among the most popular in Brigg town centre, as folk stock up with produce for the festive season and hunt out tasty presents for friends and family, including chocolates, biscuits, bottled beer and jam.
