SCAWBY ACADEMY TO PERFORM IN REGIONAL FINAL

A school from the Brigg area will be competing in the final of a performing arts contest later this month.
Scawby Academy will be participating in the Rock Challenge Northern J Rock Final on Thursday, June 27. We wish them well in the 2019 regional final.
Scawby will be competing against nine other schools - from Hull, the north bank, Lincoln and Cumbria. Three other finals will be held towards the end of June.
The organisers tell us: "The Rock Challenge is an excellent opportunity for young people to perform in a professional venue. This experience encourages an adrenalin-based high gained through performing, rather than using tobacco, alcohol or other drugs, as well as providing proven and evidenced benefits above and beyond these original objectives.
Involving over 35 schools from across Cumbria, Hull, North Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, West Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire, East Riding of Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Aberdeenshire, and Suffolk, the finals are a fantastic celebration of the time and effort schools put into their performances.  Over 2,500 students will take part across the four days of finals."
Rock Challenge Event Manager, Charlotte Payne, is looking forward to the spectacular shows, saying: “We have seen some outstanding performances this year and I cannot wait to see what the schools bring to the stage for our Northern Finals! The spirit and passion of the students this year has been amazing, and I think every student, teacher and community member should be very proud of all they have achieved this year!”
The local final will be held at Grimsby Auditorium.
