CAFE NEAR BRIGG GAINS APPROVAL
A popular cafe in the Brigg area has received planning approval.
Permission was sought to retain the eatery near the filling station on Brigg Road, Hibaldstow.
North Lincolnshire Council has now approved a retrospective application to retain this change of use.
An assessment report prepared by council planning staff said the cafe had brought a vacant building back into use and provided a valuable facility/service for local people.
In granting permission, the council has stipulated that opening hours shall be limited to:
Mondays to Fridays: 8.30am to 8.30pm
Saturdays & Sundays: 8.30am to 4pm.
Opening is not allowed on bank and public holidays.
This is "in order to safeguard residential amenity" in the locality.
Hibaldstow Parish Council raised no objection to the cafe's application.
Jenny's Cafe sells breakfasts, butties, "weekly specials."
Planners were told the eatery employed three people full time.
A car wash and an ice cream parlour have previously occupied the site.
