FOOD HYGIENE: NINE BRIGG & DISTRICT PREMISES RATED BY INSPECTORS

North Lincolnshire Council continues to carry out routine food hygiene inspections at premises across the district.
Nine premises in Brigg and district -  including takeaways, pubs and care homes -  were recently rated by the local authority's inspectors, as follows:

  • Barneys Diner, Hilltop House, Melton Ross (near Barnetby Top) was awarded five stars - "very good."
  • Castlethorpe Nursing Home, Castlethorpe, was awarded five stars - "very good."
  • Stepping Stones  (Scawby Under Fives), on West Street, Scawby, was awarded five stars - "very good."
  • Apple Tree Day Nursery, Brigg Road, Hibaldstow, was awarded five stars - "very good."
  • The Old Parsonage Bed & Breakfast, Vicarage Lane, Scawby, was awarded five stars - "very good."
  • The White Hart Inn, Bridge Street, Brigg, was awarded four stars - "good."
  • The Golden City takeaway, Wrawby Street, Brigg, was awarded four stars - "good."
  • Greenfield Tea Room, West Street, Hibaldstow, was awarded four stars - "good."
  • Rathside Residential Care Home, Gainsborough Lane, Scawby, was awarded four stars - "good."
The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme  used across the country considers three important aspects of food-related businesses.
  • How hygienically the food is handled - including how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored.
  • The condition of the structure of the buildings -  cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities.
  • How the business manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe.
