Families living in Brigg and district who enjoy the on-stage performances of entertainer Annie Fanny have suffered a second disappointment.
Annie, played by Darren Johnson, is established as a very popular performer on the Brigg Market Place stage when the Lions' Christmas Fair and Town Council festive lights switch on ceremony takes place, but these have already been cancelled for 2020 due to the Coronavirus emergency, although the illuminations will still go ahead.
Now it has been announced that local families planning to watch Annie star in the Scunthorpe pantomime will also be disappointed, as Dick Whittington at the Baths Hall, on Doncaster Road, has been postponed for the same reason.
The show will now take place in 2021, with those tickets already purchased remaining valid.
Annie Fanny/Darren explained: “After careful consideration, we at the pantomime have made the devastating decision to postpone this year’s pantomime, Dick Whittington, from 2020 to 2021. Like many theatres up and down the land, we have had to hold off for as long as we possibly can before making this announcement, hoping above hope that something would happen. But with clear guidance not coming until November at the earliest, that would be too late to put a pantomime together.”
The 2021 run will now take place between December 8 and 31, 2021.
