BRIGG LINE TRAIN 'CRAMMED' AS PEOPLE HEAD FOR THE SEASIDE
It's not often that the word "crammed" is applied to trains that call at Brigg station.
However, that was the case with the first Sheffield to Cleethorpes service of the day on Saturday (June 1).
We gather that some passengers who had paid for tickets could not get seats on the Class 153 diesel unit and had to stand.
The second train of the morning heading towards the resort saw a more prestigious Class 158 express sprinter unit provided.
A good choice, we are told, as a sizeable group of "party-goers" was waiting to board it.
Brigg station saw 69 passengers on Saturday - described as being very good.
Now we are into late spring, with summer ahead, Brigg folk can use this Saturdays-only service to spend a day at the seaside if the weather is sunny.
Have you thought about it?
Don't be put off by our reference to the crammed train; generally spare seats are available when the trains arrive in Brigg.
The booking office at our station having been removed many years ago, you can pay the guard/conductor.
