RED ARROWS FLY-PAST DURING NEW BRIGG TOURNAMENT

Brigg Tennis Club staged a new and enjoyable tournament at the town's Recreation Ground yesterday (Saturday, June 19) using the hard courts provided by North Lincolnshire Council.
The sun shone down on the tennis players as Brigg Town Cricket Club took to the grass pitch nearby for a league game.
As one passer-by rightly pointed out to Brigg Blog: "It's good to see the facilities being used."
Organiser Helen Cresswell has kindly supplied this report of yesterday's tournament on behalf of the club...

The tennis club held its first ladies' doubles tournament on Saturday. Twenty women met at the Recreation Ground to play doubles in four leagues of a round robin competition. The standard improved as the afternoon went on and we were delighted to witness a fly-past by the Red Arrows. The chairman attended, too, and presented the prizes to the eventual winners. We hope this will become an annual event and also hope to repeat it in the Autumn.
The tennis club has matches every Thursday night at 6.30; juniors' coaching on Wednesdays 5pm-7.30; club sessions on other nights and Sunday mornings. So something is happening most evenings.
