BRIGG FEATURES IN WORLD CUP SERIES EVENT

The Keyo Brigg Bomber middle-distance quadrathlon held on Sunday (May 30) had world status and attracted competitors from as far away as Durham, Lancashire and Suffolk.
Centred on Ancholme Leisure Centre, Scawby Brook, and organised by the local Lincsquad group, it involved a 0.8k river swim, 32k by bike, 7k in a kayak and a 10k run which took in the Old River Ancholme path, Brigg's Bridge Street and Scawby Road, Scawby Brook, finishing beside the New River near the leisure centre.
Our pictures, taken late on Sunday morning, show some of the runners and the finishing line.
The warm weather must have tested some runners in their final challenge of the day.
This event forms part of the World Quadrathlon Federation World Cup series.
It was sponsored by a company that's well-known in Brigg.
A number of Lincsquad members took part, and it was very good to see a post-lockdown competitive event in our area.
