BRIGG TRAIN OF THOUGHT....

A train passing over Hibaldstow level crossing - picture on Nigel Fisher's Brigg Blog

Brigg Blog took this picture on Saturday on our way towards Hibaldstow while waiting for this train to pass over the automatic barrier crossing - one of the first to be installed locally when winding gates were very much the order of the day.
A few hundred yards to the left of the picture is the site of the old Brigg Siding signalbox where the sugar factory rail network connected with British Railways. This signalbox was very small and very remote. Can anyone remember the route the signalmen had to take to reach it?
The train is well on the way to where Scawby and Hibaldstow station used to be - closed in the mid-1960s.
