The Brigg railway line gets mentioned in a fine publication Celebrating 50 Years of the Lincolnshire & East Yorkshire Transport Review, 1963-2013, a copy of which has just come our way.
It shows 1968 to be a grim year for our train service. The pattern of rail services changed, with greater emphasis on the Scunthorpe-Doncaster-Sheffield route at the expense of our own from Cleethorpes, through Brigg, to Retford and Sheffield. The closure of Scawby & Hibaldstow station came on February 3 that year.
The current Saturdays-only passenger service began on October 4, 1993.
There's plenty of interest about buses in this publication, too. And all for £2 plus £1 postage and packing.
Current editor Graham Lord is quite right when he says: "It is a fantastic achievement for any publication to reach 50 years - especially one that is locally based and so avidly supported by our subscribers."

If so, you can send a cheque for £3, made payable to the Lincolnshire & East Yorkshire Transport Review, to Ken Pudsey, 159 Clee Road, Cleethorpes, DN35 9HY.
