BRIGG FOLK TO ENJOY A DAY AT MARKET RASEN RACES TOMORROW

Market Rasen Racecourse hosts its ‘Best of British Sports Day’ tomorrow (Sunday, March 23) after witnessing horses going on from success at the Lincolnshire track to glory at the Cheltenham Festival.
Pip Kirkby, General Manager (pictured above) said: “Regular visitors to Market Rasen Racecourse know that they watch some very good horses racing at Lincolnshire’s only racecourse. That has been proved once again this year, with two horses winning at our track and then triumphing at this month’s Cheltenham Festival.”
Present View, owned by Arsenal Football Club chairman Sir Chips Keswick, won the PHS Besafe Workwear Laundering Handicap Chase – part of Jockey Club Grassroots Jumps Series - in November.  On the opening day of last week’s National Hunt Festival, he went on to take the Rewards4Racing Novices’ Handicap Chase.
Tiger Roll has another famous owner – Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary.  He was first in the 1stsecuritysolutions Juvenile Hurdle – his very first race – at Market Rasen, also in November.  He was under previous ownership then, but was sold to Mr O’Leary’s Gigginstown Stud in Ireland.  Last Friday he won the Grade 1 JCB Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham.
Sunday’s ‘Best of British Sports Day’ at the county’s racecourse offers plenty to entertain families on a day when, as almost always at the racecourse, accompanied children are admitted free of charge.
Among the exciting free features being laid on are: Kids Love the Races; 9-hole crazy golf; human football table; football and rugby shoot out; tug of war; back to school workshop; multi sports inflatable; and golf chipper challenge.
All the races are sponsored by 32Red.  The first race is scheduled for 2pm.  Gates open at noon.  On-the-day adult prices: Family Enclosure £7.50; Tattersalls £14; County Enclosure £19.  Accompanied under 18s enter free of charge.
Tickets for all racing fixtures at Market Rasen Racecourse can be bought in advance online at www.marketrasenraces.co.uk or on 0844 579 3009.
Meanwhile, sales are going well for the opening ‘Rasen Rocks 2014’ concert with Wet Wet Wet after racing on Saturday 16th August.  Tickets start at just £23 for adults and £8 for children (aged 5 to 17 years).  Children’s tickets are limited in number (200 per enclosure), so early purchase is advisable - there is a maximum of four children’s tickets per paying adult.
