SIGNS THAT NEW BRIGG AREA STORE IS NEARING COMPLETION

Work progressing in February 2019 on the new Co-operative food and convenience store in Scawby, near Brigg

The creation of a new store in the Brigg area has taken another step nearer completion.
Lincoln-based Lincolnshire Co-operative Limited is now asking North Lincolnshire Council for advertisement consent to put up an illuminated lozenge sign, an illuminated fascia sign and an illuminated totem sign at the food store being built off West Street, Scawby.
It is due to open for the first time in late April, creating 15 jobs.
Trading hours will be 7am to 10pm every day of the week.
An illustration sent to planners by the Co-op indicates a number of facilities being available, including the Lottery, a cash machine, in-store bakery and pharmacy.
The convenience store sales area will be 280 square metres.
There will also be a trolley park, car parking and a service area.
Council planners are now considering the signage application.

Meanwhile, in Brigg,  work continues to prepare for the town's new Aldi store, off Bridge Street. The picture below, taken yesterday (Wednesday, February 20), shows that the former Brigg Motor Springs part of the development site, adjoining the A18, has now been cleared of buildings, following demolition.
