SENSE OF OPTIMISM ABOUT BRIGG

Brigg Blog was pleased to hear from someone who has now returned to the town and views it in an optimistic light.
He said: "Walking around the freezing, foggy market today in Brigg, it was a real pleasure to hear the sound of the lady on the new fruit and veg stall doing the traditional "barking" of all the latest offers on her stall.
"On such a cold, murky day her calls brought back to life the spirit of the old market town of Brigg. In the  past the market would have been a lively mixture of voices, sights and sounds, but of late the market had began to lose its way, started shrinking in number of stalls, became silent and had lost much of its healthy free-trade vigour.
"Good to see a little of that life come back to Brigg on market day.
"Good, too, to see another busy lady painting a shop front in preparation for the re-opening of the sweet shop on Wrawby Street. Another optimistic sign on a cold day."
