BRIGG PETROL STATIONS DOWN THE DECADES

 

Many brands of petrol have been sold to Brigg motorists down the decades from the filling station on Bridge Street, beside the busy A18.
Texaco, Jet and Murco have been available at various times, while the latest change sees Esso at the pumps.
Brigg Blog has a question to ask senior followers of our site: Does anyone recall a  small petrol station that was on the other side of Bridge Street, perhaps in the 1960s or 1970s?
"Simpson's" is the name has springs to mind.
When Esso was dispensed at Layne's garage, on Bigby Street, in the 1960s, you could "Put a tiger in your tank!"
That was a very successful advertising campaign indeed.
