THE FUTURE OF BRIGG MILLENNIUM GREEN

Negotiations continue over Brigg Town Council having a lease on the Millennium Green, between Elwes Street and the Old River Ancholme.
Discussions have been going on for many months and steady progress is being made.
A 30-year lease has been suggested to North Lincolnshire Council.
A further update will be given to a future meeting of Brigg Town Council.
The Green was a Millennium project for the year 2000, originally administered by a trust.
It has seating, paths and grassed areas for the public to enjoy.
If, or when, Brigg Town Council takes control, the authority will be in a position to make any changes it may consider necessary.
An area set aside for wild flowers could be one possibility.
These pictures show the Millennium Green last spring/summer.

.....perhaps in a thousand years' time, some enthusiastic archeolgist, believing it's an ancient burial mound will dig furiously only to find a crisp packet and a plastic coke bottle.
