NEW BRIGG PUB GUIDE WOULD GO DOWN WELL

Brigg is rightly proud of its fine range of town centre pubs,
But could more be done to spread the word about what's on offer to potential customers living outside our area?
That's the question being asked by Paul Johnson, who works hard to publicise the town's Saturdays-only train service running between Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Gainsborough, Retford and Sheffield.
Paul tells us that people come to Brigg by train "to sample the real ale pubs in the town."
And he adds: "How about they do a guide/leaflet to sell themselves?
This seems an excellent idea to us. But will the different owners be willing to pool their resources in this way?
The owners range from local businessmen to national chains, including major players like Marston's and Wetherspoon's.
If the pubs can't agree, there would be nothing to stop North Lincolnshire Council tourism or even the Brigg Town Business Partnership putting a guide/leaflet together. They could even try asking Brigg Town Council for a cash contribution by way of a grant.
Brigg Blog has an extensive collection of suitable pictures taken on local licensed premises that we'll be glad to share. However, the distinctive one used at the top of this post comes courtesy of Ken Harrison.
