INSPIRING MORE PEOPLE TO VISIT BRIGG

More people may be inspired to visit Brigg - thanks to a bit of additional town centre marketing.
Paul Johnson, who  helps to publicise the passenger train service calling at Brigg on Saturdays, says extra info is now available to the good people of Kirton, which also has a station along the Brigg line.
Paul says: "North Lincolnshire Tourist Information have kindly let us use one side of their information board in the heart of Kirton In Lindsey.
"The information now present includes: full Stagecoach 103 bus timetable thanks to Andy Smith at Stagecoach, Brigg Line information including full train timetable, basic timetable and return fares guide, Brigg farmers' market details/Brigg station & the Penistone Line Partnership and their details of railway walks which is under the remit of Stuart Parker."
Also of interest is the removal of old track at Kirton Lime Sidings and new track going in, Paul kindly supplying the pictures below.
Kirton Lime Sidings are a landmark feature on the Brigg Line, which many people from our town will have seen while making train journeys.
In fairness to our neighbouring town, Brigg Blog points out that historic Kirton is well worth a visit, if you haven't been for some time. Take the train, bus or just drive over.
If you choose the later, enjoy a scenic drive, taking in Hibaldstow and then Gainsthorpe, where you can stop and admire the view of the Brigg railway line where it passes under the high bridge.

Notice where the notice board is sited.....in the middle of KL's market place.....not on the periphery in some isolated place, as in Brigg.
It good to see the TIC are displaying local events/organisation details in their window......but we still need a central notice board that impacts on both the local community and visitors.
As an aside....why is the BTC's notice board in the backyard of the Angel.....not a particular area that catches a lot of passing foot-prints....perhaps the notice board should come out of the shadows and be resisted where folks will actually read it....
