BRIGG THURSDAY MARKET HELD BUT MARCH FARMERS' EVENT NOW CANCELLED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS ALERT

Many people in Brigg - and shoppers from elsewhere - were pleased to see Brigg Market operating on Thursday (March 19), as pictured above, despite the nationwide Coronavirus alert.
Around 8.15am we noted some empty stalls but others were manned and early customers were already in evidence.
However, operator North Lincolnshire Council has cancelled the launch of the Brigg FoodFest planned for Friday, March 27, plus the following day's monthly farmers' market and (already) the farmers' event pencilled in for Saturday, April 25.
Clearly the loss of these farmers' markets will impact on footfall within the town centre where many shops and other businesses would have been visited by shoppers coming to town for these monthly events.
Also cancelled on April 26 is Ancholme Leisure Centre's Early Ancholme Pool Sprint.
Players and officials from the Brigg Town, Broughton and Hibaldstow clubs will not now be attending the Lincolnshire County League's annual dinner this coming Friday (27th) at Hemswell Court; it has been re-arranged for Friday, October 23. Former England cricketer Dermot Reeve will be the guest speaker, as originally planned.
Brigg and District Gardening Club has cancelled its April meeting "due to the current situation" and is advising members to keep calm and carry on gardening.
It's a shame that we have to list more local events that are off, but everyone accepts the reason - public health being the No 1 priority as efforts continue to stop the spread of the virus.

Joy and happiness is all i see around ever since i came in contact with this great man. i complained bitterly to him about me having herpes only for him to tell me it’s a minor stuff. He told me he has cured thousands of people but i did not believe until he sent me the herbal medicine and i took it as instructed by this great man, only to go to the hospital after two weeks for another test and i was confirmed negative. For the first time in four years i was getting that result. i want to use this medium to thank this great man.
