BRIGG PUBS REMAIN OPEN BUT MANY TOWN EVENTS ARE CANCELLED

Pubs and bars in Brigg will be open this weekend as the country continues to be on Coronavirus alert.
Live music gigs planned for Saturday (March 21) at the Woolpack, Brigg & District Servicemen's Club and Brigg Town FC's Hawthorns clubhouse have been cancelled, while the Dying Gladiator has suspended its popular karaoke sessions for the time being. However, live music at The Glad will continue via the jukebox.
All the town's licensed premises remain open if you want to pop in for a pint.

Brigg people will make their own minds up about whether they still wish to visit local bars or attend events that have not been cancelled by the organisers.
If you are feeling off-colour and showing  symptoms like a cough, sore throught and/or fever, don't venture out.
The government has now granted permission for pubs (serving food) and restaurants to operate as takeaways as part of its response to what is described as the Coronavirus outbreak. Planning rules have been 'relaxed' so this can happen without delay.
At weekends, Pips Kitchen (Brigg Town FC) will be delivering breakfasts. Call 07714767820 or 07713 627639 between 9am and 12.30pm, Saturdays and Sundays.  It is still open  as usual at the Hawthorns if you want to visit.
ALL the town's shops (large and small), pubs and other businesses will value your custom during what's clearly a period of uncertainty.
Forthcoming Brigg events continue to be cancelled or postponed.
Brigg Singers have called off a public performance planned for Wednesday, March 25, while Brigg Amateur Social Historians (BASH) have now suspended all monthly meetings at the Servicemen's Club until September.

The first Brigg FoodFest - planned for Friday, March 27 by North Lincolnshire Council - has been postponed (new date yet to be announced).
Brigg Heritage Centre, housed in the Angel building, will be closed from 2pm today (Friday March 20) until further notice.
Brigg Carers' Support Centre, on Redcombe Lane, is  closed to the public until further notice. However, those needing assistance can can call 01652 650585.
Pips Kitchen at Brigg Town Football Club  "is closing for the time being" it has announced through social media.
