The hours that a new Brigg gym can operate have been specified by North Lincolnshire Council.
The local authority has approved change of use of a building behind the former Nelthorpe Arms pub, off Bridge Street.
It has specified that the venue shall only be used only for the purposes of a kickboxing gym, unless further permission is obtained, and has stipulated the following hours of operation:
Monday to Friday: 5pm to 9pm.
Saturday: 10am to 5pm.
Sundays & bank holidays: 11am to 4pm.
The council says it has defined the terms of the planning permission "in the interests of establishing a use which is compatible with the semi-residential character of the area."
Brigg Kickboxing and Fitness, of Unit 2, Nelthorpe Business Court, successfully applied for change of use.
Following closure, the Nelthorpe Arms pub building was converted to purely residential use, while the outbuilding was designated as offices.
Brigg Town Council told North Lincolnshire planners that it supported the proposed change of use but with an additional suggestion "that adequate parking provision be provided."
The family-run martial arts business told North Lincolnshire Council: "We have 100 students of all ages who take part in our classes and we believe it is an asset to the area."
A North Lincolnshire Council planning officer's report explained this application was a re-submission of an earlier one this year and was "seeking to extend the hours of operation for the proposed martial arts studio."
The report stressed that no external alterations were proposed to the former pub outbuilding "and therefore the character, appearance and setting of the listed buildings are considered to be preserved in this case."
Recommending that permission should be granted, the officer added: "There is limited parking within the site. However, given the location of the building in Brigg town centre, and that numerous public car parks are within easy walking distance of the site, it is considered that additional off-street parking provision is not required in this case."
Full planning permission, with conditions, was granted by the council.
