GENERAL ELECTION 2019: WHEN THE BRIGG & GOOLE AND SCUNTHORPE CONSTITUENCY RESULTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE ANNOUNCED
Voters in Brigg and the towns and villages nearby will be going to the polls to have their say in the General Election 2019 today (Thursday, December 12). Voting hours at polling stations in North Lincolnshire are 7am to 10pm.
Remember - you do NOT need to have your polling card with you to be able to cast your vote.
The area covered by Brigg Blog takes in three Parliamentary constituencies, with one candidate being elected to serve in the House of Commons from each.
The candidates are listed below in alphabetical order.
BRIGG & GOOLE
Jo Baker (Green Party)
David Paul Dobbie (Liberal Democrats)
Majid Khan (Labour Party)
Andrew Theakstone Percy (Conservative Party).
SCUNTHORPE
Nic Dakin (Labour Party)

GAINSBOROUGH
Mary Elaine Cavill (Independent)

Counting for Brigg & Goole and Scunthorpe will take place at The Pods leisure centre in the steel town. Verification of the votes will begin at 10pm, with counting expected to start around 1am.
The result for Scunthorpe could well be declared between 3am and 4am, and Brigg & Goole's between 4am and 5am.
