BRIGG CRICKETERS TO PLAY IN BIGGER DIVISION
Brigg Town Cricket Club will be part of an important change made by the Lincolnshire County Cricket League.
Brigg remain in Division Three, but for the 2020 season this section will be much bigger.
Division Four has been discontinued with Division Three enlarged to FOURTEEN teams, playing each other once rather than on a home and away basis.
Brigg will be playing Caistor 2nds, Nettleham 2nds, Lindum 3rds (Lincoln), Haxey 2nds, Messingham 2nds, Outcasts 2nds (Crowle), East Halton, Scothern 2nds, Barton Town 2nds, Alford 2nds, Louth 3rds, Scunthorpe Town 3rds and Horncastle.
League fixtures will be formatted over the coming weeks, and Brigg will then discover which teams they will be hosting at the Recreation Ground, off Wrawby Road, and also those they will be visiting.
The formation of the bigger Division Three was agreed by clubs at the league's annual general meeting, held recently in Market Rasen.
Following a successful summer, Hibaldstow have been promoted to Division One and will be joining Broughton in the league's second tier.
Broughton 2nds have moved up a section to Division Two.
Draws for the league's three knockout competitions will be made later this year - Brigg Town being in the Supplementary Cup.
Brigg, Broughton and Hibaldstow players and officials are being given the chance to enjoy the company of a former England player.
Dermot Reeve has been confirmed as guest speaker at the league's annual dinner/awards evening to be held at Hemswell Court, near Caenby Corner, on Friday, March 27, 2020.
After retiring as a player, he became a coach, commentator and pundit.
