GENERAL ELECTION 2019 RESULT FOR BRIGG & GOOLE AND OTHER NORTHERN LINCOLNSHIRE SEATS

Andrew Percy (Conservative Party), pictured above outside our Buttercross, topped the poll in the Brigg & Goole constituency during the General Election 2019 held on Thursday, December 12.
First elected our local MP in 2010, he greatly increased his majority yesterday, polling 30,941 votes. Labour's Majid Khan received 9,000, Lib Dem David Dobbie 2,180 and Green candidate Jo Daker 1,281.
Holly Mumby-Croft (Conservative) was elected to serve as the MP for the Scunthorpe constituency, which includes a number of communities near Brigg.
She has served as one of the Broughton and Appleby Ward representatives on North Lincolnshire Council.
Holly gained 20,306 votes to unseat Labour's Nic Dakin who received 13,855.
Sir Edward Leigh (Conservative) won in Gainsborough - a constituency that includes a number of West Lindsey villages close to Brigg. He has been an MP since 1983.
Other Conservative winners were Lia Nici (Grimsby) and Martin Vickers (Cleethorpes).
The Conservatives now have a clear working majority in Parliament, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson this morning went to see the Queen as the next stage in the political process.
