LINCOLNSHIRE DAY 2017 TO FEATURE TALK ABOUT PINGLEY CAMP, BRIGG

Lincolnshire Day 2017 - on Sunday, October 1 - is fast approaching.
People from the Brigg area may be interested in attending a range of events coming up on the day we celebrate all that's good about the historic old county.
The Society for Lincolnshire History & Archaeology, the Kirton in Lindsey Society and the Kirton in Lindsey Diamond Jubilee Town Hall are organising displays, bookstalls, talks, walks, family events and activities - all on a 'history and heritage' theme.
There will also be Lincolnshire-sourced refreshments, including ploughman’s lunches,  plum bread, hot dogs and a raffle for a Lincolnshire-themed food hamper.
At 11.45am, Pat Horton will be presenting a talk called The Life and Death of Pingley Prisoner of War Camp - A look at the development, re-use and demise of Pingley Prisoner of War Camp  on Bigby High Road, just outside Brigg, including real-life stories of those who farmed, lived and worked there. The cost is £2 and the venue Kirton in Lindsey Diamond Jubilee Hall, DN21 4LZ.
