BRIGG REC GETTING SOME T.L.C FROM THE NO. 1 SEED

Grass seed being applied to the cricket square at Brigg Recreation Ground on Sunday afternoon, with the landmark poplar trees away in the distance.
Ground consultant Jon Taylor, from Hibaldstow - many times named Lincolnshire County Cricket League groundsman of the year -  is seen hard at work now the final match of the 2017 season has taken place.
Some Brigg Town Cricket Club members were out on the ground when we arrived, including Nick Beacock, Mark Cawkwell and Phil Dewfall.
Subject to confirmation at next month's annual meeting of the league, Brigg Town  will be back playing home matches in the town next season after four years on borrowed grounds.
Brigg Hockey Club has already returned to the town after the provision of an all-weather floodlit pitch by North Lincolnshire Council, which opened earlier this year.
