KEYO BRIGG SPRINT TRIATHLON 2017 - KEEP A LOOK OUT TOMOROW FOR THESE 20 ATHLETES FROM OUR TOWN


Many people in Brigg will turn out to watch the annual Keyo Brigg Sprint Triathlon in the town tomorrow morning (Sunday, September 24). It is sponsored by a firm well-known in the town.
The Keyo Brigg Sprint Triathlon is again being organised  by the hard-working Lincsquad group.
Competitors will be swimming at Scawby Brook's Ancholme Leisure Centre, taking to the saddle for 20km cycling and then finishing off with a 5km road run.
The latter two sections will involve streets within Brigg, where many folk like to spectate - Brigg Blog included.
We suggest positioning yourself on Bridge Street, in the Market Place or down Elwes Street/Cadney Road between 10am and 11.30am.
North Lincolnshire Council says its Ancholme Leisure Centre car park will be CLOSED until midday tomorrow (24.09.17) due to the Annual Brigg Sprint Triathlon.
Both Swimming Pools & the Health Suite will also be closed until midday because of the event.
Customers are being asked "to find alternative parking in Brigg."
The remainder of the centre will be open as usual, including:

  • The Gym
  • Squash Courts
  • The Sports Hall
  • Body Pump Class, 9:30am to 10:30am
  • HiiT Core Class, 10:30am to 11am
"Sorry for any inconvenience, says the council.
 
Competitors  from a very wide area, including Brigg, Broughton and surrounding villages, Gainsborough, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Hull and Doncaster have entered.
