Former Brigg resident Cliff Turner, now in his 90s and following Brigg Blog from his home in New Zealand, has sent a fascinating comment after reading our post about conkers which went up yesterday.
Cliff says: "I wonder if anyone else remembers the woodwork teacher at Glebe Road School who preceded ‘Tich’ Armstrong. I think his name was Brown.
"He used to play conkers with the boys using an unbeatable wooden conker he had made for himself."
Cliff attended Glebe Road School during the 1930s before moving on to Brigg Grammar.
