BRIGG LINE PASSENGER TRAIN NUMBERS TO BE REVEALED

FROM PAUL JOHNSON, BRIGG RAILWAY LINE CAMPAIGNER

Tomorrow, Tuesday 6th December, the Office of Roads and Rail will publish the latest passenger numbers for all stations on the railway network.
We expect Kirton In Lindsey to have a substantial increase, whereas Brigg and Gainsborough Central may be slightly down.
We are delighted to see the good work Network Rail have done with the trees at Brigg station (pictured).
This was a hot spot of poor rail head conditions, and with half the Sheffield platform now cleared this will improve the situation.
Sadly, the dumped caravan and broken glass on Station Road were still there - 7 days after being reported.
In the next few weeks the design for the Brigg railway guide will be formulated.
It will be available to residents in Brigg and will be a simple step-by-step guide on where  the station is, the trains that run and a simple fare guide to help them - since 95% of customers using the Brigg line are first-time travellers.
If this guide is popular, it will be rolled out to other areas.
Funding has also been made available for three leaflet boxes to be placed in Gainsborough, Kirton In Lindsey and Brigg.
