ONGO-ING PLANS TO REDEVELOP BRIGG PROPERTY

Early this year, Brigg Town Council raised no objections to a planning application seeking permission to change the former local authority children’s home on Poplar Drive into a residential dwelling.
North Lincolnshire Council planners then gave Ongo - the area's social landlord - approval for the  redevelopment.
However, a recent Brigg Blog visit to this part of town - on the Springbank housing estate - showed nothing had been done to the boarded-up building, which still carries its "For Sale" signed erected by North Lincolnshire Council's estates committee. So we thought we'd ask the local authority for an update.
Their spokesman indicates the deal with Ongo is still on, saying the building has been "sold subject to contract."
Once the deal has been signed, sealed and delivered, the council will be taking down its "for sale" sign.
That will be an indicater to people living in this part of Brigg that conversion by Ongo is on the way.
