It's that time of year again.
Brigg people and groups can make nominations for the annual Joseph J Magrath OBE Award for Public Voluntary Service to the town.
Joe was Town Clerk in the late 1970s and early 1980s. For some decades prior to the formation of Brigg Town Council, he had been the chief officer at Brigg Urban District Council.
If you want to make a nomination, call at the Town Council Office, in the Angel Suite, and collect a form. Or download one to complete from www.briggmarkettown.co.uk
Nominations will close on January 19.
Once Brigg Town Council has considered all nominations, the winner will be announced and invited to attend a civic function in the spring to receive the trophy.
Our picture shows Magrath Court, Brigg - named in honour of Joseph J Magrath, who contributed a great deal to the town over so many years. Magrath Court is off Wesley Road.

How would you pronounce Joe Magrath's surname, Nige?
Magrath is of Irish origin and natively it would be pronounced 'Magra..', the 'th' being silent.
See also the Australian cricketeer, Glen Magrath (pronounced Magra)...
But it all depends on how JM pronounced his last name...did it remain untainted, or was it Anglicised?
