Brigg Blog was very sad to hear of the death of Dr Ken Proctor earlier this week.
In addition to being a well respected GP, Ken had keen an active member of the Briggensians' Association for former pupils of Brigg Grammar School, Sir John Nelthorpe School and Brigg Girls' High School.
He was a member of the Briggensians' committee, assisted with the Newsletter and was a Foundation Governor at the school, where he had been educated from 1956 to 1964, prior to embarking on his medical studies. While a GP in our town he treated boarding house pupils in the sick bay.
Retired Sir John Nelthorpe headteacher David Brittain said many local people had cause to be grateful to Dr. Ken for his caring approach during visits to the surgery or home calls. "He will be very sadly missed," said David.
We served on the Briggensians' Association committee with Ken and always enjoyed seeing him at social events. Our family must have been among his early "list" when he came to work as a GP in Brigg.
