A charity cycle ride set off from the Britannia Inn in Brigg today (Monday, May 26).
It is in memory of Emily Taylor, John and Dave Allcock and Adrian Gibbons, who had taken part in four of these rides in the past.
There are
10 cyclists and one back-up person with van taking part - all friends/workmates.
They are: Alan Taylor, Jon Taylor, Coun Carl Sherwood, Matt
Mosey, Phil Clipson, John Staff, Andy Longden, Stu McWilliam, Alex Smith, Nick
Golland and back-up man John Hastings.
Coun Carl told Brigg Blog: "We are taking Gibb's bike, taking it in turns
to ride it so it completes the whole ride. We are doing a round trip from
Brigg to Scarborough across the Yorkshire Moors to York, then back to Brigg. It's
over 3 days with 2 night stop-overs at youth hostels. The distance is 250
miles. As (landlord) Phil Clipson is riding, we are starting and finishing at The
Brit, setting off at approx 9am on the 26th May.
"The charities benefiting
will be CLIMB (Children Living With Inherited Metabolic Diseases) The Sick
Children's Trust, L.I.V.E.S, and Brigg and District Breast Cancer Support
Group."
Anyone wishing to donate can contact any of the participants or donate
