Brigg Town Council debated a planning application for removal of a sycamore tree before deciding not to object, but instead to suggest that a replacement tree, of a more suitable species, is planted in its place.
The sycamore is in Albert Street, within the Conservation Area.
Coun Jane Kitching pointed out that Brigg seemed to be losing a lot of trees in Albert Street, while Coun Jackie Brock suggested a suitable replacement should be planted for the sycamore.
The application now passes to North Lincolnshire Council planners for final consideration.
