KEYO BRIGG SPRINT TRIATHLON 2018 PREVIEW

A major sporting event is coming up this weekend - the Keyo Brigg Sprint Triathlon.
It will be held on Sunday morning, September 30, and will be centred on Ancholme Leisure Centre, Scawby Brook.
Organised by the Lincsquad group and sponsored by a company based in Brigg, the triathlon will see competitors undertaking a 400 metre  swim in the leisure centre pool, followed by  20km cycling on local roads (including the A18 in Brigg as far as the Atherton Way roundabout), then a 5k run through Brigg.
Many spectators will be watching the action unfold, particularly the cycling and running sections.
The swimming begins at 8pm, with the cycling mid-morning and the running due to conclude around 11.30am.
The 5k will take the runners along Bridge Street, through the Market Place, down Elwes Street towards Cadney and then back to the leisure centre.
Prize presentations will take place outside the centre, close to the New River Ancholme.
One of them, for cycling is being sponsored by the King William IV pub/restaurant at Scawby Brook - not far from race headquarters.
