AWARD PRESENTED AT BRIGG HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

Further to Brigg Blog's illustrated report about the best-kept gardens and allotments competition 2018 held at the weekend, we've now received this picture taken after the formal proceedings in the Angel Suite.
Ancholme Mews, off Bigby Street, won the business/organisation category but was not represented at the ceremony.
So Andrew Markham, who donated the trophy, and Town Mayor Coun Donald Campbell, visited the development later to present the plaque. They are seen with some residents of the housing development.
If you missed our post over the weekend, here's a link to the report revealing who won what in the annual competition...
Famous actress Wendy Craig, star of TV series like Butterflies, came to Brigg in July 2008 to officially open Ancholme Mews, accompanied by that year's Town Mayor and Mayoress.

Having been present on Saturday morning to see Derek Capp collect the trophy for having the best front garden in Brigg, we were pleased to meet up him that evening in the Woolpack, as he celebrated his success.
As the Town Mayor pointed out in his introduction to the ceremony in the Angel Suite, there was a high standard of entries.
