Market Rasen Racecourse is getting ready to host the most important day of jump racing in Britain during September on the final weekend of the month.
As well as the great sport, visitors to the track on Saturday, 29th September will be able to enjoy a beer festival with local beverages from the Ferry Ales Brewery and live music.
The festival takes place in the racecourse’s beer tent, while the live entertainment comes from the Moonshiners street entertainers of Lincoln and Mansfield who will be performing through the afternoon.
Racegoers planning for the day can take advantage of an advance pint-sized offer for a Tattersalls admission ticket, a race-day programme and a pint of beer – all for an inclusive price of £20.
The day is the first part of the Lincolnshire racecourse’s big ‘Autumn Double’, the concluding part of which is Winter Ladies’ Day, sponsored by Elixr Bathrooms, on Saturday, 20th October.
Ferry Ales Brewery Prelude Raceday & Beer Festival marks the finale to summer jumping in Britain and the start of the winter season, with the races including the feature Listed £35,000 Ferry Ales Brewery Prelude Handicap Hurdle and £25,000 Farmhouse Handicap Chase. Total prize-money is over £100,000, ensuring competitive and exciting sport.
James Wilcox, Group Trainee General Manager, Market Rasen Racecourse, said: “Spectators at the racecourse on Ferry Ales Brewery Prelude Raceday get the best of both worlds. There is a superb jump racing card, live music and we are also once again delighted to have our partnership with Lincolnshire’s Ferry Ales Brewery for our annual beer festival. It’s a great way to say goodbye to the summer jumping season as we look forward to the sporting delights of the months ahead.”
Racing starts on Saturday, 29th September, at 1.40pm, with gates open two hours before. Admission starts from £10.80 in advance, with accompanied children aged under 18 admitted free of charge. On-the-day prices are £12 (Lawn Enclosure), £20 (Tattersalls) and £25 (County Enclosure).
