BRIGG COUPLE CELEBRATE 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY IN STYLE

Well-known Brigg couple Keith and Joan Smith, pictured above, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Friday (September 7, 2018).
The former Town Mayor and Mayoress enjoyed an evening party at the Lord Nelson Hotel, in the Market Place - the hostelry managed by  son and grandson, Richard and Jordan Smith.
Family and friends joined the happy couple to enjoy music provided by Brigg's John Thompson and his Ancholme River Jazz Band.
A fine buffet was on offer, and there was a special cake to celebrate Keith and Joan's milestone, pieces being distributed among the guests.
Pictures taken on the couple's big day in 1968 were on display.
A retired railway signalman and later manager, Keith was a long-serving town councillor and Town Mayor in 1987/88 and 1994/95.
The latter was a landmark period when the pedestrianisation scheme and new inner-relief road were being put in place.
