BRIGG BLOG'S FOOTBALL ROUND-UP OF GAMES PLAYED SEPTEMBER 29, 2018

Briggensians Football Club recorded a debut win following promotion to the first division of the EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District Football League yesterday (Saturday, September 29, 2018).
The Brigg team triumphed 3-0 away to AFC Queensway, with two goals from Ben Lingard and one from Stuart Briscoe.
Elsewhere in the top flight, Barnetby United lost 2-1 to College Wanderers (match report below).
Hibaldstow Wanderers lost 7-1 at home to Limestone Rangers Reserves in the first round of the Tortank Barton Brotherhood Cup, Hibaldstow's effort being an own goal.
In division two, leaders Barnetby United Reserves won 3-2 at Crosby Colts Reserves, courtesy of goals by Kyle Sylvester, Dawid Kotwica and Liam Dawson.
Leaders Brigg Town were without a game in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League yesterday.
But second-placed Lincoln United Reserves managed a handsome win to move level on points with Brigg, although the Zebras have a superior goal difference and have played one fewer fixture.

The Railwaymen’s best start for many a season came to an end when they were beaten 2-1 at home by College Wanderers.
Again a raft of changes didn’t help their cause but inept defending cost them twice in the opening 20 minutes with Hibbard and then Hagan finding the net.
The lack of continuity in selection was again proving a problem as players struggled to settle and the half-time whistle came as a welcome break.
A re-organisation of personal and formation early into the second half saw an improved performance and Jack Blendell got his 2nd of the season to get Barnetby back in the game.
Sam Thirkell pulled off a one-handed save and College hit the bar with a header as Barnetby chased the equaliser but their efforts rarely threatened the College goal.
Stout and resolute defending saw College gain revenge for their home defeat 2 weeks ago and get their first points on the board.
