NEW STREET LIGHTS IN BRIGG TOWN CENTRE

North Lincolnshire Council - the highway authority - has been busy installing new lights in Brigg.
They stretch along Bridge Street to the western edge of the Market Place, close to the grade two listed County Bridge.
We have asked the council for confirmation that these are LED lights, using less "juice" than conventional bulbs.
Brigg Blog likes the look of the lamp-posts, which fit in well with the appearance of the Conservation Area, in our humble opinion.
Our picture shows one of them - almost installed - with another visible on the other side of the Old River Ancholme, close to the White Hart pub beer garden.

....the common criticism of LED lights is that they cast an intense beam of bright light, but the surrounding area is left in quite severe shadow.

...i.e...it's not diffused lighting like the sodium lights...

Your very lucky, we Hear down in Gainsborough Lincolnshire CC upgraded the street lighting to LED then decided to turn everyone off between 12-6. Crime and criminal damage has rocketed.
