£4,000 RAISED IN BRIGG FOR CHARITIES INCLUDING LINDSEY LODGE HOSPICE

Celebrations of Chinese New Year in Brigg lasted for several days in the China Royal restaurant in Bridge Street.
Ken Harrison, of Brigg Matters magazine, took these pictures and tells us: "Proprietor Simon Ho and his wife, Mary, catered for many diners during the period with the celebrations culminating in a Civic Auction Function during Thursday evening.
"Attending the event were especially invited guests, such as Brigg Town Town Mayor and husband, Cllr Sharon Riggall and Martin, who were accompanied by North Lincolnshire's Mayor, Cllr Jonathan Evison and his wife Soozy.  Representatives from the various Chinese communities were also in attendance.
"Another celebrity spotted during the evening was O. Howard Boyd, the sculptor of the Market Place Angel, as well as the creator of special carvings for royal coaches
"During the evening, Colin Booth successfully oversaw a auction in which over £4,000 was raised for four charities - Lindsey Lodge, The Chinese Language School, Hull Infirmary and the Humberside Chinese Society.
"The Chinese Year of the Rat Year lasts from 25th January, 2020 to the 11th February, 2021."
