A railway relic from Brigg is now enjoying a new lease of life after being lovingly restored on a heritage railway.
The cast iron footbridge on Brigg railway station took passengers across the tracks from Victorian times until being declared no longer fit for purpose by Network Rail and replaced by a modern version in 2015.
Carefully dismantled, it was taken to what's known as The Herriot Country Line - The Wensleydale Railway in North Yorkshire - where it has since been returned to tip-top order.
Various companies assisted in refurbishing the footbridge and many people donated to an appeal fund.
Brigg Blog, and other young trainspotters in the 1960s, stood on the footbridge to watch steam (and diesel) locos pass underneath.
Thousands of passengers also used it during its long working life, under various owners.
We are planning to make a nostalgic visit to The Wensleydale Railway later this year, and won't be the only ones wanting to see a part of Brigg's history serving the travelling public once again.
