BEST GARDENS, ALLOTMENTS AND FLORAL DISPLAYS IN BRIGG REVEALED FOR 2019

The best gardens, allotments and floral displays in Brigg during 2019 were revealed on Saturday morning (September 14).
Brigg Town Mayor Coun Sharon Riggall announced the winners in the Angel Suite.
Sponsorship of the town council's annual competition was again received from Brigg Garden Centre.
Coun Riggall was assisted in presenting the awards at various times by Deputy Town Mayor Coun Brian Parker, Andrew Markham, Anne Gray and the Garden Centre.
The prizes ranged from gardening vouchers to trophies and certificates, and the majority of winners were present to receive their awards in person.
The ceremony formed part of the Town Mayor's coffee morning which was very well supported by Brigg residents and people from the surrounding district.
A raffle and tombola were held, and proceeds from the coffee morning will go to the Mayor's Appeal Fund in aid of the Brigg Breast Cancer Group.
She thanked everyone for their support after the raffle had been drawn at this enjoyable event.

Business & organisation category: 1st St John's Church; 2nd The Hungry Fisherman; 3rd Ancholme Mews.
School category: 1st Brigg Primary.
Hanging baskets category: 1st Mrs H. Dent, 12 Elm Way; 2nd 40 Maple Close; 3rd 5 Preston Drive.
Front garden category: 1st Mr and Mrs Whitehead, 37 St Clare's Walk; 2nd Derek Capp, 18 Almond Grove; 3rd Marina Williams, 18 Churchill Avenue; certificate of merit, Mrs H. Dent, 12 Elm Way.
Special awards, certificates of merit: The Brigg District Veterans' Group D-Day Display, Wrawby Street; all College Yard businesses "for working together" - the Cafe, Green Jay, 2nd Chance, Charlie Lui and Indulge.
