NEW SERVICE WILL MAKE IT EASIER FOR CARERS IN BRIGG AREA TO ACCESS SUPPORT

A new carers' support service will start  on 23 December 2017 - providing valuable support to around 4,500 carers in North Lincolnshire.
The new arrangement will bring together two existing carer services, which currently provide separate support for adults and children/young people with disabilities, into a single all-age service. This single all-age approach will build on the current services which are currently available, but with the benefit that people will only need to register with a single organisation.
The new all-age carer service has been commissioned by North Lincolnshire Council and NHS North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)and will offer a range of high quality services including training, access to support groups, volunteer visiting, befriending and alternative therapies.
The service will be delivered by the Carers Support Centre and inquiries can be made directly on 01652 650585.

Cllr Rob Waltham (Brigg & Wolds), leader - North Lincolnshire Council, said: “North Lincolnshire Council values the role carers’ play and it is important that they feel fully supported. We have listened to what they told us and have taken this on board when planning the new service.
“Supporting carers and keeping carers healthy, independent and well, enables vulnerable adults and children to be supported at home and in their communities. Carers will have access to integrated services they need to support them and enable them to have a life of their own alongside their caring role.
